Room Darkening Window Blinds

There are usually a few rooms in your house where you don't want a lot of light to enter all the time. This could be your bedroom, living room, television room, or den. Sunlight is great to have come into your house during the day but at night, you don't want anyone who walks by your house to be able to see you, what you are doing, or even what's on your television. That's just annoying and can give you a feeling of paranoia. The answer to this is to buy some nice room darkening window blinds. These blinds have a very thick fabric layer with a thin light filtering layer on the inside. This lets you keep the sunlight during the day and pull the thick layer closed at night. Nobody will be able to sneak a peek into your house with these heavy blinds closed.


One of the most popular uses for room darkening blinds is to keep that terrible glare off of your television or computer. It can be irritating and sometimes impossible to watch a movie or your favorite show when there is a bright sliver of sunlight reflecting off the middle of the screen. Many people will resort to moving the television or hanging blankets and sheets over their light curtains but that doesn't look very nice at all. Some nice room darkening blinds can accomplish all of this while keeping your room looking beautiful.

Many people think room darkening blinds are all dark in color but that isn't so. There are many different colors available that will darken your room just fine. Blues, greens and blacks tend to be a little heavier and will keep out every single beam of light while reds, yellows, and warmer colors can block all of the light but are often used to diffuse the light and keep it from concentrating on your television or other devices. It's up to you to decide just how dark you want your room and you can begin your selection with that in mind. Do you want a cave or something a little lighter?
