Powered Window Blinds

Window blinds are a great addition to any room but when you have very large windows in a very large house you may find yourself pulling cords many times each day to achieve the desired lighting you want. Nobody wants to do this every single day for the rest of their lives and thankfully, you don't have to. Powered window blinds are a great achievement in the blinds world. These were made popular in the 1980s and have only been improved upon since then. Though similar to remote control window blinds, powered window blinds have some very unique features.

When you have very large windows or skylights, they will take a lot of muscle to open day after day. Even if you used a remote control setup, you would still have to replace batteries and parts often because a remote control blind is usually for a small window and not that 10 foot long skylight above your living room. Powered window blinds eliminate all that hassle because they are wired into your house's electrical system. No more battery or motor changing at all!

There are many ways to operate your powered window blinds. Many of these systems use a dimmer switch, light switch, or combination of both. This gives you great control over your blinds so you can adjust them however you like. A great feature of powered window blinds is that the newer models can be integrated into your personal computer and you can operate them from there and even set up timer modes so they will open and close like clockwork even if you aren't at home.

Powered window blinds do tend to be a little on the expensive side and that price grows with every additional feature you include but you will end up being the envy of everyone you know. Powered window blinds definitely give off an air of power and authority.

There are many places to get powered window blinds but you will have to have them installed by a professional. It's not a good idea to fiddle with the wiring of your house unless you are a licensed electrician. It's very easy to hurt yourself or cause all kinds of damage to your house itself.
