Drapes And Ideas

Buying drapes can be a lot of fun. One of the greatest things about drapes is that any idea you have can usually be brought to life in no time. If you have a sewing machine or know someone that can sew, the only limit is your imagination. Drapes are not that hard to make and are also easily customizable. There are many different ideas you can use with drapes and various rooms in your home so lets take a look at some common ideas along with a couple obscure ones.

A very popular theme people use in their living rooms is solid colors. That's pretty boring if you ask me. One of the most interesting living room ideas I have ever come across was at a friend of the family's house. This guy was more into Star Trek than anyone I have ever known. His living room was fashioned to look a bit like the bridge of the Enterprise and the drapes were very similar to those banks of computer panels on the show. Granted, those computers look terrible but he had modified them so they looked a bit more like flowing shapes instead of lights. The overall effect was amazing. This is just one idea that many people would find repulsive but I thought it was pretty cool and sure made an impression on people.

Bedroom ideas for drapes are a bit easier than other rooms. People love certain periods of time or certain novels and movies and can easily incorporate that into their bedrooms. You can use almost any idea you have and bring it to life in your room with just a little bit of effort. If you really love the way houses were decorated in the 1700s, you can set your room up just the same way. Drapes in those days were very thick, long and flowing and may be a bit on the expensive side but they can really make or break a period themed room. If you love the Dracula's castle look, long velvety red drapes will be a must have. Many of these types of drapes will cost quite a bit of money unless you can make them yourself or are able to find them discounted somewhere.
