Insulated Patio Door Drapes

When having family and friends over, it is most welcoming to have a patio door with a pleasant deck. You can entertain them in countless ways on a deck and have a great starting point for a backyard adventure if you live on a large lot. Patio doors are very convenient but buying drapes for them can be a pain. If you live in California or another warm southern state, you will just need drapes for privacy and decoration. If you live somewhere the temperature regularly drops below 30 degrees however, your patio door can be the one spot in your house where all of your heat can escape. This can add hundreds of dollars each year onto your heating bill but can easily be avoided with some nice insulated patio door drapes.

Insulated patio door drapes not only look great, they are very practical. Anyone who has gotten out of bed in the morning to discover frost on the inside of their patio door can recognize the need to insulate it. Insulated drapes are usually hung on a curtain rod or hooks and is one piece of fabric that will cover the entire area. You can find these in a variety of styles and colors that will make any room look fantastic. You will want to choose thick fabric varieties because they tend to be very insulating.

Insulated patio door drapes can be purchased in all kinds of stores. Retail outlets are an easy place to find some and specialized furnishing stores often have a giant selection for you to choose from. You should always measure the area you need to cover before you go to a store and realize you have no idea what size you need. Not all patio doors are the same so you can't usually find a “one size fits all” when it comes to drapes.

In many areas, your heating provider will actually reimburse you if you buy insulated drapes of any kind. These help reduce the amount of power your house is using and reduces the load in your power grid. Check with your energy provider to see if they offer any kind of reimbursement or rebates.
